Broomhead Claims August Monthly Medal Title
 
On Friday 2^nd of August, Muscat Hills members continued playing despite warm weather and strong winds to see who would be the August Monthly Medal winner for 2013. As the high winds swept over the Sultanate of Oman, the golf course played long and tough with the wadi crossings becoming difficult to master with the wind. Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club’s vice captain Bob Broomhead had an excellent front nine score which featured 2 pars for the 19 Handicapper.  He then had a slightly worse back 9 score however despite the wind he managed to keep the ball in play with straight tee shots and steady putting. His total score, a nett 73 on the par 72 golf was enough to keep him 2 shots clear of his nearest rival managing to claim victory in the Monthly Medal. Finishing two shots behind the winner was Kim Robinson with a nett 75, followed closely by Humayun Kabir with a nett 79. In the ladies division Sanjoli Singh claimed the August Monthly Medal title with a nett score of 83. The average score in the medal was a nett 80 showing just how hard conditions were during the day.
